Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the sega workshop yesterday. It was a wonderful day!

We will soon be posting short films from all of the events on a Chagossian heritage website. The films will teach people about Chagossian cuisine; sega song, dance and instruments; how to use medicinal plants; and how to make handicrafts from coconut. We will have more information about this soon.

Please join us at our next cultural heritage workshop where natives will teach the younger generations Chagossian sega: how to play the tambour (Chagossian ravanne) and other instruments, how to sing and how to dance in traditional costume.
